I believe we are all here for a purpose. Now "WHAT" that purpose is God only knows. That being said, through this blog I will attempt to try and make sense of the scattered thoughts that bounce around my head and the lessons I take away from my daily travels. Some days the thoughts will make sense and be crystal clear but on most they will be all over the map. Some days the idea may seem trivial and it may not matter to you BUT maybe in these inconsequential thoughts and comments you will find meaning, Whatever you take away from my scattered thoughts I hope they move you to a better place!
SCATTERED THOUGHTS #1
Yesterday AM I was in my car driving to get gas. I was all by myself, a rarity on the weekends being that I have a few kids, two dogs and constant chaos 24/7. I put the radio on and searched for anything other then Radio Disney. All I wanted this AM was peace. I came across WFUV 90.7 FM and they were having their "Sunday Breakfast" program. Cindy Bullen's, of the Refugees whom I love, was just finishing a new song called "January Skies" and I was settling into my ride alone. My mind began aimlessly wandering back to the sudden passing of my brother Brendan in November and how difficult it has been on my entire family. I was not paying much attention to the background noise on the radio until I heard the word STRENTGH blare from the radio. It hit me like a ton of bricks. I was immediately brought back to the present moment. You see my older brother Brendan passed away unexpectedly at the age of 55 (11/25/11) and the lyrics that caught my ear was mind blowing. The words I heard were the following: "All that I promise is strength for this day...".
Wow!!! All I have been asking God for each and every day since my daughter passed away in 2004 has been the strength to get through my days and here was a song being sung to me and for me when I so needed a gentle and loving reminder. "God's promise" was the scattered thought that I needed yesterday. So many of us just need the strength to get through one day, moment or minute. Thank you WFUV, Woodie Guthrie (words by) Paul Plissey (music by) and Ellis Paul (sung by). Signs are always around us and yesterday I was listening for my answer!
If you'd like to hear the words and the song that was sung so movingly by Ellis Paul click on the below link. Remember that signs abound for all who are willing to open their hearts, and in my case yesterday ears, to.

Beautiful. I also find the messages when I am the quietest. Sometimes our prayers are answered quietly...
